From April 2015 nurseries, preschools and other providers can claim additional funding called Early Years Pupil Premium if your child is eligible.
The childcare provider could receive up to £300.00 per year to help support your individual child’s learning and development in the setting. This could be used to purchase resources, additional staff training, fund trips / outings, improve the learning environment or provide extra adult support to help meet their next developmental steps.
The childcare provider will need to provide evidence to Ofsted to show how this money has been spent to support your child.

How do I apply?
If you think your child might be eligible for Early Years Pupil Premium you can apply online here: http://www.somerset.gov.uk/childrens-services/early-years-for-families/early-years-pupil-premium/ .
If your child is aged 2 years 9 months or older when they start with Bouncy Bear Childcare we will give you the opportunity to complete a simple Application Form during your induction sessions.
If you are already attending Bouncy Bear Childcare you will have been given the opportunity to either apply online or complete an Application Form with a carer.
If your circumstances have changed and you think you may now be eligible you can still apply online at any time or speak to your Key Person who will do their best to help you.
What happens next?
When Somerset County Council receives your Application Form (either online or by post) they will establish if your child is eligible for funding.
If your child is not eligible for funding please don’t worry we will continue to observe, assess and plan for your child’s individual learning needs. You can access their individual learning progress through our online interactive system and we will work together to ensure the best outcomes for your child.
If your child is eligible we will inform you and invite you to feedback on where you feel your child would benefit most from further investment. We will use this feedback along with assessments of their learning and development made in the setting, the child’s views and feedback from other professionals (if relevant) to devise a plan of how we will use the funding to support your child’s learning.
You will be kept updated termly on how the funding is being used. We will review this process during parent meetings, planning meetings and staff meetings. You can also ask to review this at any time by speaking to your Key Person.
