The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is the current English curriculum for children aged from birth to the end of their first year at school. Please be aware this has now been revised and changes will take place from September 2014.
The Early Years Foundation Stage is broken down into four main themes:
A Unique Child Every child is a competent learner from birth who can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured.
Positive Relationships Children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and/or a key person.
Enabling Environments The environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children's development and learning.
Learning and Development Children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates. There are three Prime Areas and four Specific Areas of Learning and Development.
For more information on how we support children's learning and development within the Early Years Foundation Stage please access the menus on the left hand side of the screen.
